Sponsor My Event

Terms of use

Last updated: 20 October 2026

Draft for legal review. These terms are a plain-English starting point and will be checked by a lawyer before launch.

1. About these terms

These terms apply when you use Sponsor My Event (https://sponsormyevent.com.au). By creating an account or using the site you agree to them. If you use the site for an organisation, you confirm you are allowed to act for it.

2. What we do — and don't do

  • We are a listing service that helps event organisers and sponsors find each other.
  • We are not a party to any sponsorship agreement between organisers and sponsors.
  • We do not hold, process or guarantee sponsorship payments, and we take no commission. Sponsors and organisers pay each other directly.
  • We do not sell tickets or run events.

3. Organisers

  • Only list or import events you organise or are authorised to list.
  • Keep your listing accurate, including dates, audience figures and package details, and update it if things change.
  • Every event is reviewed before it goes live; we may decline, edit for clarity, or remove a listing that breaks these terms.
  • You are responsible for delivering what you agree with a sponsor.

4. Sponsors

  • Send genuine requests only. We limit how many requests can be sent each day.
  • Check event details with the organiser before you commit.
  • Never send card or bank details through the messaging system.

5. Plans and featured spots (organisers)

Paid plans and featured spots are billed through Stripe in Australian dollars, including GST. You can cancel a plan online at any time; it stays active until the end of the period you have paid for. If you move to a lower plan, nothing is deleted, but events or packages above the plan's limits are hidden until you upgrade again. During our launch offer everything is free.

6. Acceptable use

Don't post anything unlawful, misleading, discriminatory or that infringes someone else's rights; don't scrape the site or misuse other users' information; and don't try to get around our security or limits. We may suspend accounts that do.

7. Your content

You keep ownership of what you upload. You give us permission to display it on the site and in our listings, emails and social posts that promote your event.

8. Liability

We work hard to keep the site accurate and available, but listings are provided by organisers and we can't guarantee them. Nothing in these terms excludes rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law.

9. Changes and contact

We may update these terms and will tell account holders about important changes. Questions? Contact us.
